J.S. Bach: Italian Concerto, BWV 971 J.S.

ZOOM h1n

These days, I organized data, artworks, etc.

I remembered a piano teacher with whom I studied as an adult at Kawai Omotesandou.  She recommended this suite - perhaps she liked playing it.  It was at that time that I finally learned it.

I recorded this suite in 2023.  I played the 1st and 3rd movements on digital harpsichord.

I've been thinking about how to enjoy playing them (the first and third movements).

(I like the 2nd movement.)

This time I played all the movements on digital piano.

I think that it is difficult to play since I may feel that in some parts the first notes of the right and left hands are not so harmonized well.

I found that I felt the score, as a set of shapes, may be beautiful - scale (big flows) and tiny  flows, etc.

The piano teacher I mentioned said that she felt good whenever she played it well.

This time I realized that whether I can play it through to the end may depend on the atmosphere and spirituality at the moment, as well as my physical condition and finger technique.

The above three tracks are the earliest recordings using ZOOM h1n.

 ******
The first movement (recording track using ZOOM h1n) received a copy right claim for using an audio of a CD.  I submitted a dispute.

ZOOM H1essential

I bought a new recorder ZOOM H1essential, 32bit floating.

This recorder is different from h1n, I felt the sounds were different.
I tried recording several times.

For ZOOM h1n, I used to record on the digital piano first, then played it back to capture the audio on the recorder.
I had to adjust to the input volume on ZOOM h1n to avoid clipping, sometimes capture the same piece for several times while changing the input volume.

With ZOOM H1essential, there is no input level knob, it is 32bit floating, no need to worrie about clipping.
I found that direct recording to ZOOM H1essential may be better.  I connected a phone output to my headphones to play the digital piano and connected another phone output to ZOOM H1essential to capture it.
In Audacity, I found that less processing may be better.   If peaks are too high, I simply apply Normalize.  Then, I export it as 48k 24bit wav.

I made the track private because the sound (recorded with my digital piano and ZOOM H1essential) sounded a bit harsh.

Arrange

I found that I felt easy to play J. S. Bach Italian Concerto BWV 971 the first and third movements if the key is in minor.

I played the third movement starting in F minor, adding lights (Major keys), and ending in F minor.

F minor
F Major (original)
C minor
D minor (original)
C minor, A♭Major, D♭ Major, ??  - black flat keys, opt leading tones,
A♭Major
F minor

itsuka italia

The title doesn't have a specific meaning.

I think it may be a rhythmical phrase.

itsuka ikitai.
I've never been to Italy.  I want to visit someday.

ituka no italia.
Sometimein Italy - ancient, or a past for someone, etc..

This track was recorded on ZOOM H1essential and the sound may be a bit harsh.

Bach, Johann Sebastian: Goldberg-Variationen BWV 988 J.S.

I practice one of variations only one time every day (ignore miss or etc).  I finish all of the variations for about one month, and then I play them again from the start or the last one, I repeat that.  I think I will be able to play them well sometime.

Today I wanted to play this variation 7.

J.S.Bach Partita 2 C minor BWV826

I had played it more than .. years ago.

Recently I practiced it again.

I intended to avoid boredom.

The order of this recording was the last one to the first one, Capriccio, Rondeaux, Sarabande, Courante, Allemande, Capriccio again, Sinfonia and Capriccio again.

I recorded, in particular, Capriccio, Rondeaux and Sinfonia, many times...

After I recorded all of them, I upload them.

I was practicing J.S.Bach Partita 2 while practicing and recording Chopin Barcarole, Saint-Saëns, transcribed by Godowsky Le Cygne, and etc. from this spring, during rainy and it is hot now.

My piano teacher in my childhood said that Bach is the father of music and gave me Invention and Sinfonia, after them Well-Tempered Clavier 1.

I play J.S.Bach's works when I play other composers' works.  Also because I like them. I think that that works well.

I will be able to play them better some day...

Sinfonia

depart from, approach, go along with

I played mi which should be ♭mi, which parts I usually did not miss, however, I chose this recording as a whole.

Allemande

elegant

drape?

Courante

lightly

curr?

Sarabande

slow

Rondeaux

drop, drops, ??

Capriccio

melodies and rhythms in detail as possible

easily, relax as possible I could

I practiced it, slow, a little fast, staccato, legato, bright, dark, sad, joy, etc.

J.S.Bach Italian Concerto

1.

I used 444hz.
I practiced with the metronome of 77.
I felt groove, joy, bounce, and a high or silence space.

I played usual piano sound, however,
I selected harpsichord 2 in KAWAI CA9500 GP in the recording.
I missed tones sometime and felt nervous, but, continued playing to keep the stance.

2.

Right hand.  melody, emotion, but supress.
Left hand.  (try to) always 3/4 slow, calm.

1. and 2.
I didn't notice that the start portion of the recording is .......
the recording-conversion system of my electric piano was broken.
I'll record it again maybe.

I have practiced it but I once gave up recording.
Today I reached the end.
I wanted to play it as if I drive a car easily or I ride in a carriage and enjoy the landscape.

The scales in this 3rd are low to high sound, while the scales in the 1st are high to low sounds.

J.S.Bach the Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1 No.

I had impression of something severe and tensed before. After I played Chopin Op. 25-12, I felt waves of the ocean. Waves spread in a body, the ground on which the body is, and the ocean. At this time, I have impression of something soft and rippling, too.

I used harpsichord2 in my electrical piano and set 432 Hz, although I read that a harpsichord is set to lower pitch.
